Do you belong to any (besides Early Reviewers)? Approximately how many? Are there any in particular that you participate in more avidly? How often do you check?
I belong to quite a few but I find most are not as active as ER. I especially like the Historical Fiction, Science Fiction Fans, and Kindley groups, and I find the Bookcases group to “interesting”. There is never a shortage of obscure, creative bookcase pictures to look at. The funniest group by far is the Librarians who LibraryThing. They have three threads in particular that I find to be so funny. Here are the links for your enjoyment:

I haven’t checked on the Librarians threads, but I will definitely be looking for them now!

I noticed you mentioned the Kindley groups. Do you own a Kindle? If so how do you like it? I’m ordering mine today. Also, if I’m correct you changed the look of your other blog through Blogger.

I have a Kindle but honestly I wish I would have saved the money and waited. It doesn’t have backlight, and it would have been nice to have a backlight option, or at least a built in light that doesn’t have to be purchased seperately. The free books are nice, Tor.com offers a free ebook every week. You have to subscribe for that. I also downloaded the Harvard classics for free, and amazon sometimes offers a free ebook as well. The Kindley group keeps me up to date on offers.I definately think ebook readers are the way of the future, but I just wish they were slimmer and more sophisticated looking which I’m sure will happen very soon. I did change the other blog, it still has some html errors I’m working through. If you see anything that isn’t working or looking right please let me know. Now… over to your blog. Thanks for the comment.

Lol I don’t belong to the Librarians group, but I keep an eye on it. Specifically for those threads you mentioned!! They really are hilarious

Also, saw your comment on somebody else’s blog re starred threads… If you go to the talk page (http://www.librarything.com/talk) and click: your groups, it automatically lists all the topics in the groups you belong to, with the threads and tells you how many are unread.

Hi again~
You asked about the 50 Book Challenge group @ LT. I originally joined the group before I started blogging and haven’t ever opted out. There is little to no interaction at least on my book listing. I think in the past I’ve had a comment or two left asking how I liked a book once I finished but nothing other than that.
Thanks for visting with me today.

I love the Librarians who LibraryThing discussions. They are hysterical. When I worked in Circulation we found all sorts of things in returned books. We finally made a scrapbook of them. Although we had to use a little censoring of a few so they were presentable!

I’ve lurked in the Librarian discussions threads especially the one about the strange things patrons ask for which made me laugh no end.
I think with the 50 book challenge you make of it what you will, mine has a few comments from my friends and I usually comment on theirs but other than that it’s more of a way to list the books I’ve read when I’ve done that I go and read the other challenges to trawl for recommendations.

I have got to get all the Library Thingers members in my Google Reader and soon!
That way, I can stop by when there is a new post.
